                 Black Doll

"Charity Begins At Home"
Each year a significant amount of money is donated to charity through the generosity
of doll clubs and collectors worldwide. While the charities that benefit from these events
are admiral, we find that the less known grassroots organizations struggle to keep
afloat.
Dinners bake sales, and yard sales barely keep their doors open. The money raised
from this year’s event will be going to a charity of this caliber.
Charity begins at home and is the theme for both the silent and live auction at the
convention. Your convention fees and purchases raise funds for the DALLSS Inc; Doll
E Daze and Philadelphia Doll Museum...

The Doll E Daze Project is a not for profit event that celebrates black history through
the eyes of a doll collector. Each year the project exhibits more than 500 dolls of color
in libraries in Massachusetts. The exhibits depict African Americans in themed
vignettes. Schools and librarians collaborate with the project using black dolls as a
teaching tool to insure that patrons and children are educated on the contributions
made by African Americans. In addition, doll making workshops are given to nurture the
self esteem and promote cultural diversity by encouraging dialogue. Over the past four
(4) years 16,449 children and patrons have participated and benefited from the
programming offered by the Doll E. Daze Project.
The Doll E Daze Museum will be the permanent home for the 500+dolls  currently used
in programming for the Doll E. Daze Project .

DALLSS Inc; is a non profit organization, which provides transitional support
to ladies assisting in the transition from homelessness, substance abuse, domestic
violence and incarceration.  DALLSS helps them to rebuild their lives. Recognizing that
nurturing self esteem and education on making healthier choices, DALLSS Inc; and the
Doll E. Daze Project have collaborated to offer programming to girls and women.

Philadelphia Doll Museum was established in 1988 as an educational and cultural
resource institution, dedicated to preserve doll history and culture by presenting the art
of doll making and collecting through seminars and lectures; to provide a resource
library of information for doll research and the documentation of printed material,
photographs, and audio recording; to develop and sponsor with other museums,
cultural centers and organizations, exhibit exchange and educational workshops
